Background

In 2011 high-end consumer electronics brand Bang & Olufsen appointed Johannes Torpe as their first ever Group Creative Director.

His mission was to inject new energy into the legendary brand, channeling his own passions for music, storytelling and brand-building.

“I look forward to working together with Johannes Torpe, who has a strong desire to continually challenge the status quo with new ideas, an unconventional design approach, and emotionally engaging brand experiences.” said former Bang & Olufsen CEO Tue Mantoni in the press release announcing Johannes' appointment.

As Group Creative Director Johannes was also responsible for developing Bang & Olufsen’s visual identity, including the usage of logos and the way in which graphic design is applied to store identity and the products’ design language.

Johannes relinquished the role in October 2015.

The following is a selection of the many products launched under Johannes' Creative Direction.
