In 1998 Thomas Blachman created the record label ManRec with his sister Susi Blachman and promoter Peter Fredsted Jacobsen.
Their goal was to renew the music industry by bringing forth new talent and allowing the more established artists to have a space for experimentation.
They had no limitations in genres.
ManRec released records every 6 months in collections of 8-10 at the same time. These records were only sold thorugh the label website and through the store designed by JTS.
The store interior was kept very minimal with one pair of headphones for every release suspended from the ceiling.
